Thank you for the chance of allowing us to walk alongside you and our hope it goes beyond just bikes. We, the Whitley’s, are blessed with the opportunity to serve our community positively by impacting the lives of those around us. Each interaction is our chance to insert genuine care toward others. As a family we aspire to demonstrate servant-centric culture, principles, morals/ethics, etc. in everything we do also in the same breath knowing no one is perfect.

THE TEAM

Jeff “Jefe”, Jeff “Jeff O”, and Derek are the 3 faces you’re accustomed to as we’ve been blessed with them for many many years. They prefer not to have their pics up, so please come in and put a face-with-a-name if you haven’t already.

The “how are you today”, “how may we help you”, and/or “what can we do for you today” paired with a smile is the way we strive to welcome guests into our shop. Our goal is to meet you where you are, regardless of whether exploring learning to ride, picking up the hobby after years, have a new-to-you bike, looking for a brand-new bike, looking for a custom $15,000+ full competition bike, and everything in-between.

Their combined industry years, experience, depth of knowledge, curiosity, drive to continually learn, and much more set our team apart from other shops. In addition, we lookout for the budget of a customer always seeking to provide more value than we accept in payment via “The Go Giver” philosophy.

TEAGAN ANN “THE BOSS” WHITLEY – Director of Smiles / Owner in Training

The one and only Chief of Operations who’s full of spunk, curiosity, excitement, will gift customers with smiles/laughs, insert her energy, backstock floor inventory, and simply do what a 4-year-old does. She’s active in riding bikes, martial arts (jiu jitsu), swimming, dance, gymnastics, soccer, reading-on-the-go, and much more. You are likely to experience her first-hand in the shop at some point because she’s a regular. If you happen to miss her there’s artwork on display in the shop outside the office. :)

TRACEY ANN WHITLEY

From growing up in Thailand, a successful collegiate swimmer, attending the #1 dental school (Tufts – Boston) at the time of her attendance, with honors completing her dream since elementary school becoming a dental surgeon (Periodontist) graduating from OU residency, she is a self-motivated focused driven individual. As an introvert she is the ying to Trey’s yang, while together they have conquered the Grand Canyon R2R (rim-to-rim) and many endurance races. 

JOHN “TREY” GREEN WHITLEY III

Having called NW Oklahoma City home 43+ years and attending Oklahoma State University (Athletic Training / Physical Education dual major), he is entrenched in the community. As a 1980’s bike loving kiddo roaming the street until dark, competitive soccer + racquetball + basketball + pool + ____, mountain/road/gravel bike enthusiast, and outdoor junky he is well connected within the active lifestyle space familiar with the local environment. He sat on the Redbud Classic board 2 consecutive terms, is actively on the HIA (Hope is Alive) board, and was most recently accepted into the 40th Leadership Edmond XL class. In addition, he has a unique blend of formal MBA and MS Energy Management with “school of hard knocks” diverse experience as an extreme extrovert driven to simply do the next right thing.

EDMOND LOCATION HISTORY

Al’s Bicycles original S.W. Oklahoma City location was founded by Alan Webb in 1979 with humble beginnings, immediately gaining the trust for quality product with unrivaled customer service. Henry Holasek was a young O&G engineer recently graduated from Oklahoma State University (Stillwater, OK) whom fate dealt the hand of being negatively impacted by the 1980’s Penn Square Bank failure. Henry’s father was at his local Norman breakfast spot with friends when the seed was planted to partner with “Al”. Quickly thereafter Henry and Al, on an old school handshake, were formal partners seeking a location to expand. Ultimately, they identified an existing 7,550’ MOL bike shop located at 2624 Broadway Court, Edmond, OK 73013 specifically built for the business. On July 1, 1986 the lease was signed and Henry opened the doors before turning on the lights for his first day as Al’s Bicycles Edmond owner. 

Al was extremely invested in Henry’s success mentoring him into the industry. Al and Henry worked hand-in-hand for many years as eventually Henry spread his wings flying from the nest. Fast forward and Henry celebrated 38 years in business July 1, 2024. If a fly-on-the-wall today you’d find the diversity customers/friends to include City of Edmond Mayor with his family, high ranking University officials, local first responder (police, fire, etc.) departments, customers driving from other states, local Edmond citizens, and every other walk of life patronizing our shop. Continuing and building upon the established brand, community stewardship, doing what’s right, commitment to top product/service, etc. are a recipe for success which we are committed to. 

Henry is focused on continuing his legacy passing the baton to the next owners, Tracey Ann and John “Trey” Green Whitley III. Clients bringing in pot roast with all the fixins’ (Oklahoma southern slang), stories with donuts for the team, sponsoring local events, City of Edmond / OKC board engagement, and much more will continue as Henry is focusing on still being part of the business while enjoying more life than work balance.
